The Lady on the List

“I love everyday”

This scene is brought to you by the lovely Emily Deschanel:

And the slightly cocky David Boreanaz:

And they are doing what *apparently* engaged/married couples never do, cuddle and show affection on the couch!

I should warn them about this. Don’t they know this is abnormal?

Moving on….

So B&B are comparing bucket lists. Booth has little things like what to climb and maybe places to visit. Brennan’s is blank. She tells him she loves their life and doesn’t really have anything else that is important to her besides her family and job that she loves. Booth assures her that he agrees.

everyday

As usual, Sarah nails it with the comments. Highlighting by me 🙂

By the end, they are….brace yourselves….KISSING! Because they are happy, they are in love, they have a daughter, they are B&B, they are gorgeous, and we are all in a happy Season 9 bubble of joy at this point. Booth doesn’t want Christine to know they are getting all romantical, so he attempts to block her “view” from the baby monitor.

hiding

Oh, Mighty Hut, we miss you so!

Such great memories. I certainly miss the Mighty Hut. It was a home. Their new place is more like an office building.

  2. I love Sarah’s comment “it is absolutely Boothy that he loves the every day of it all.” He always has, which is why he longed for a wife and family, I think. Brennan, on the other hand, didn’t know that she would love an “everyday life.” She loved her work at the Jeffersonian, she loved going on digs, and after Booth showed up she found out she loved going out in the field with him. But I think it took her awhile to realize she loved everyday with him. Her confession to him in the kitchen of the Mighty Hut, about how she loved where she was right at that moment was so sweet.

Yes, so many memories of the Mighty Hut, and comparatively few sweet moments in the new house. I think it was a dud as far as houses go…we can blame that one on SN.

Again, not to beat a dead (really, really dead) horse, but it would have been so easy for them to give us just a little bit of this in S12, even amid all the mayhem and drama. It comes down to a simple showrunning choice…MP, for whatever reason, thought that fans wanted to see the B&B relationship tested One More Time, that we wanted to see death and sadness and car chases and explosions and gun fights more than we wanted to see sweet B&B kisses and family life at home. I think he made the wrong choice, but it’s too late now.

  3. Also, when was the last time we saw cocky Booth? Remember how cocky he was when they were at the jewelry store investigating the diamond seller, and he teased her about whether he was her fiancé? Or when they were in the kitchen at the Mighty Hut and he put the lampshade on his head and teased her about marriage? Where, oh where is cocky Booth?

They must have left him behind at the Mighty Hut. I miss him.

This pretty much sums things up Estella!
I think Booth aways dreamed of that wonderful everyday life with family that he never really had as a kid. And Brennan had hers stolen away and never wanted to open her heart to it again until they met and she started enjoying everyday with him.

They could have had gunfire and mayhem and/or bickering, but they need to have those moments where B&B affirm their love and devotion to each other. These two show runners don’t seem to know how to do that. It’s the little things…we don’t need be love scenes. We need sweet moments of love/joy between them. Even looking at their kids together while they sleep or cooking together, or having that evening drink and having a nice conversation. When was the last time we saw them do that?

Well, we will see what this week brings. Gordon Gordon said that the derby would be a good way to get their aggressions out didn’t he? And in the promo Brennan says ‘stop hitting me’ to Booth. So he’s bumping her with the car, we know he’s likely a little resentful/angry at her, so perhaps they hash it out this week.

  5. I sure hope we get a little bit of that Gordon Gordon magic back. He was one of the original B&B shippers and thanks to him, helped Booth get his…um…shooting back on track. Little Christine and baby Hank can thank GGW for that lol 😉

  6. Also Booth says a sincere “I love you” to Brennan dressed as Buck, could they actually be discussing something of importance about them? 😱😱
