  13. Bones Wednesday is up and running! Last episode of season 1! Man, did HH know how to craft some great characters and interesting storylines! Lots of great B&B moments, and the team working hard to help their leader and friend. Pretty solid episode, and it set up so much of the rest of the series!!!

  16. I like them. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to participate the last couple of weeks, but will be able to get back into it after this week!

    I know it must be a lot of work for you…how are you feeling about it? It seems like we are down to a core few (you, me NWChic, jmgx2, and Shanny) with a few others commenting from time to time. Personally I love still having connection with Bones fans from the IMDB board, and would vote to continue if you are ok with it.

  29. We have had a few new people join our ranks in the last week or so, so welcome!! This site was formed after IMDB shut down their message boards last spring, and we wanted to continue talking about Bones! The name of our site comes from Emily Deschanel’s apparent love of both riding boots and blazers 🙂 We have been going through the episodes in order starting with the Pilot episode. We recently started season 2. Hope you all have a fun time here.

    I didn’t watch this episode until last night. Blacklist is so different from Bones that it’s difficult to compare her writing on the two shows. Blacklist doesn’t really have an epic romance like B&B so no room for Carla to shine in that regard, and that was one of her big strengths on Bones, right?

    I will say that this BL episode had a definite social justice message…the black FBI character was trying to help the son of a black friend who had been gunned down by a white police officer for having an expired license plate tag. BL doesn’t typically deliver social justice or political messages. Carla is listed as an exec producer (for other episodes, not just the one she wrote) so I wonder if they hired her specifically to write this particular show or if she influenced the script since she’s a producer? Hard to say.

    HH buddy Dave Thomas was writing and producing for BL the past couple of years, although he is gone now. I also wonder if he had a hand in getting her a job on the show. I never really looked much at writers/producers/showrunners before Bones, but it’s kind of interesting to observe. I intended to follow up on where the Bones writers are now, but just haven’t had the time!

    All the stuff that happens between B&B in early seasons all worked out. Just wish we got more kisses in season 11 & 12!! Some of those scenes I had forgotten about.❤️❤️

  42. Last night, watched repeat of Past in the Present, season 7 finale directed by DB! Lol, such memories of the outrage against Brennan for running off with Christine. Booth’s happiness crushed! Anyway, jumping ahead of our episode recaps, but some great B&B moments-
    -Booth & Brennan looking at Christine in her crib
    -Booth tells Brennan “I love just the way you are Bones”
    -Christine getting baptized and Booth is beaming
    -Brennan tells Booth “I love you. I want you to know we are not together just because of Christine.”
    -Max! Love him anytime.

  46. With the Disney acquisition of Fox about to be announced, you have to wonder what might become of a future Bones revival. According to the article below, Fox will retain ownership of the 20th Century film and television studio lot in Los Angeles. I suppose that means they would also retain ownership of any Bones sets, at least the ones that weren’t destroyed.

    According to other reports, high-level Fox talent might not move over to Disney. This article specifically mentions Dana Walden as one who might leave…according to Hart she was one of Bones’ biggest backers.

  64. I remember this episode was right after Daredevil when Booth & H broke up. All episode I was waiting for B&B to make a move on each other! Guys kept calling Brennan, and Booth was getting a bit jealous it seemed.

    I did find it satisfying that they did end up spending the evening together, even if was at the shooting range, because that is something Booth wanted to do.

    Giving this a try one more time…this is the picture I wanted to post. Booth is looking at her with so much joy on his face…it’s sweet. I imagine he must be relieved that he can be happy again after Hannah’s rejection, and guess who is the source of that happiness? I think Booth is getting the message…it’s Brennan or no one!

  70. So HH tweeted yesterday that a bunch of Bones folks were gathering today to remember Bruce Margolis, who worked behind the scenes on Bones. DB commented on HH’s tweet.

    Selfishly I wondered if perhaps we would get a DB/ED picture (if they both attended). Instead we got a selfie of David with hockey great Wayne Gretzky.

    Which leads me to ponder…do you think we will ever see another DB/ED pic?

    According to the IMDb Bones TV series site, we are out of order in Season 2.
    -Episode 2×18 Killer in the Concrete (I did not see that reviewed yet)
    -Episode 2×19 Spaceman in the Crater (not Player)
    -Episode 2×20 Glowing Bones

    Player Under Pressure is listed in Season 3 as episode 3×11 😱

  83. Remember when DB was sick before the start of season 11?? He had posted a pic of him and his dad. He looked thin, had bruising.

    Anyway…He posted on Instagram a thank you to his Dad-
    ‘dbodbo69 Dad with laughter and love always there for me. Struggled with liver failure and in this particular shot I was in a lot of pain. Skin was burning and could not function. He got me to laugh. Laugh. Laughter got me through this difficult time in my life. I love you Dad and will forever hold onto that love and pass onto my children . Thank you for making me laugh this day and everyday. Happy Fathers Day.”

    So we know now what DB had but what caused it? Remember there was speculation Emily did not want to kiss him because he had been sick. Hmm…maybe he had hepatitis or something?? Or a Tylenol overdose can cause sudden liver failure. Well, at least he recovered from it.

  85. I remember there were rumors that he had a liver problem. Guess it’s confirmed now. I know I was surprised when he posted pics of alcoholic beverages after he had been so sick. I’m surprised he was able to consume alcohol after that. I really don’t know much about it…I guess if it’s induced by medication and they can treat it quickly then your liver goes back to normal?

    The whole Angela and Roxy thing- not a fan!!

    But I am a fan of Yanks, ConMan, Hero in the Hold (wet Booth!), Cinderella, Critic…EitB! And many more lovely B&B moments in season 4!!

    Remember that lawsuit filed by Bones exec producers Barry Josephson, DB and Emily? An arbitrator has just awarded them $179 million! Of course, Fox/Disney is going to appeal that decision.

    Apparently the award was split into two parts: $50 million for actual damages and $128 in punitive damages. Fox is only protesting the punitive damages, so it looks like the three will split $50 million no matter what happens on the appeal.

    I think this makes a reunion down the road unlikely, at least on Fox!

  114. I always wondered why Hart didn’t join the lawsuit which was brought by Exec Producer Barry Josephson, Kathy Reichs, DB and ED. This article might explain why.

    What’s more, at this exact same moment, Bones showrunner Hart Hanson also signed a release, which in itself wouldn’t be problematic but for the fact that unbeknownst to the others at the time and contrary to Fox’s representations back then, he was in the midst of signing a rich new deal to continue on the series. Hanson was represented by attorney Jeanne Newman, the wife of Gary Newman, then the co-president of Fox TV. ”

    It appears that Hart and DB are still friendly, at least on social media, where they “like” and comment on each other’s posts from time to time. Still, the fact that Hart’s attorney is Gary Newman’s wife, and Gary Newman was specifically called out in the arbitration judgement, can’t be a comfortable situation, right?

    I have a feeling that we’ll be hearing lots more in this in the upcoming months. I also think that this makes a Bones reunion extremely unlikely….:(((((

  115. Yes it’s a complicated web that Fox weaved!! I was trying to sort this out.
    So Fox was lying to Josephson and Reichs. ED and DB were a different. It’s like there were 3 different spheres or balancing acts here. We don’t seem to know what exactly they said to ED and DB to get them to sign on for those years. I wonder when contracts are being negotiated, how much each of the 3 spheres knew about what was happening with the other. There doesn’t appear to be bad blood between HH and any of them really. I guess everyone in Hollywood cuts the best deals they can for themselves.
    I never got the feeling that Josephson and Reichs were around that much. It makes sense that ED and DB would talk to each other about contracts. HH and SN (who wasn’t mentioned) probably were doing their own thing as well. But using Gary Newman’s wife in a Fox contract deal seems kinda like a slight conflict of interest! LOL Not a comfortable situation at all, makes HH look bad. But would the wife be working for HH or Fox in that situation? LOL

    Some of the behind the scenes stuff comes to light!!!

    I thought I was at the wrong site when I first came here today. Like the new look bnb!!

    So now, on to season 5.. I love Season 5 because the first Bones episode I ever saw was Gamer in the Grease. Then I did not see another episode until Bones on the Blue line. I then missed the next episode (which is probably a good thing since it would have confused me, Parts in the Sum) and then Queen Bee which really hooked me to watch this show! I wanted to find out more about B&B’s relationship.

    So many great episodes in Season 5, even though I don’t like the ending!!!

  122. So someone on Twitter said that in a recent interview ED said that there are no plans for a Bones movie, and that she and DB do not want to be in a movie.

    I guess I’ve pretty much given up hope that we’ll see a Bones reunion anyway, as DB seems quite busy with SEALTeam, but did anyone else see or read this interview? I’m curious to see if this person interpreted her words accurately.

    Personally, I don’t think that DB said he wouldn’t go back with regard to Bones. He has always said in interviews that, generally speaking, he only moves forward, never back. I also recall him saying he won’t go back to do a Buffy or Angel reunion, but I thought he said that Bones was different and he would consider it.

    However, if he and Emily are friends then I would think she would know how he feels. It’s confusing.

    Whatever their feelings are right now it’s just too soon, and DB (and now ED) are busy with other projects.

    I did see that interview. Both are busy with other projects. DB directed an amazing episode of Seal Team recently. I don’t think either of them are interested in a Bones movie at this time.

  138. Yay Random Thread!!

    Looking at the rest of season 9 from the IMDb episodes list, there are a lot of low rated episodes. The 3 highest rated are Woman in White, Big in the Philippines and the season finale Recluse in the Recliner, got the highest rating 8.9 stars. Some low rated eps. have good B&B moments…but we are on a trend of not so great cases and episodes.

    Coming up next…The mystery in the meat. Not a great case, but a great scene with drunk Brennan & Booth!

  154. I am going through all my Bones Bookmark pages! A lot of the videos I saved are not available anymore, but some are! I am going to start posting old pics and videos from the past.

    If you have 4 minutes, this youtube video Between the Raindrops, is delicious! All the great B&B moments and kisses included. I always think during season 4 & 5 could we ever have imagined such B&B loveliness??
